The European aeronautics industry is a global leader in many aspects. Many member states and the European Commission support the industry via programmes to maintain its competitive position. At the same time the research and development programmes also aim to decrease the environmental impact future aircraft will generate. Slot Consulting is an active participant in this process. The company takes part in aeronautics related activities at three levels.
First of all it supports the European activities aiming to achieve the goals in Flight Path 2050 both directly and indirectly by the participation of one of its general managers in the Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation Europe (ACARE). At the same time Slot Consulting supports the progress and activities made in Hungary via participation in the Hungarian Aerospace Technology Platform (HATP) and by working together with relevant government organisations.
Slot Consulting also supports the European aeronautics research community by participating in projects aiming to enhance cooperation among European researchers. The company often acts as a coordinator or leading entity of these initiatives. One of the examples is the Central European Aeronautical Research Network (CEARES) organising networking events in the region. A more recent example is the Promo-Air project which aims to convince secondary school students to choose aeronautics as a career.
The company is an active participant in aeronautics research projects which aim to develop a new technologies in aeronautics. The range can vary from short term oriented solutions, such as communications technologies of tomorrow developed by the SANDRA project to more pioneering principles such as using magnetic levitation for take-off and landing (GABRIEL).
